World-wide, 132 million orphans are in desperate need of kindness and love. In the United States alone, over 500,000 of these children are in foster care - 100,000 of them without ties to a mother or father. To many, these numbers are overwhelming. When we look at the orphan crisis on a global scale, at the millions of orphans world-wide, any effort seems fruitless. However, nothing could be further from the truth. Each of us can be a catalyst for change. One person, one couple, one family, one church, one body - the body of Christ - unified through compassion and moved to action - God tells us to care for the orphan, defend the fatherless, give hope to those who need it the most. So how do we help? How do we become involved? What can we do as individuals, as a family and church body, to care for these children? Just take a step. Commit to impact a life for Christ and attend this heartwarming event. Featuring a media-rich presentation and special guests whose personal stories speak about life-changing faith and life-saving hope, this event will inform and challenge you to answer the call God has for you in helping these children. We will introduce you to why we, as authentic Christ-followers, are charged with caring for these children, and at the same time, will discuss why participation in such a ministry will encourage and deepen your faith in God. We will walk along side you as we take a closer look at God’s heart for the orphan and present you with simple and easy ways you, your family and friends, can become involved. Such opportunities range from small but super-fun activities that involve the whole family, to leadership opportunities for individuals who have a desire to serve at a more committed level. Whatever way you wish to participate, know your involvement will directly impact the life of a child and give them hope for the future.
